Heartbreak Island Promises to Be Even “Naughtier” for Season 2

Heartbreak Island promises to be even “naughtier” for season 2

New Zealand's very own reality show, Heartbreak Island, is back again for a second season! Despite its controversial and raunchy first run, the show has returned to our screens with the first episode having already debuted on the 19th February.

Last year, the show was met with a fair amount of criticism. The show follows 12 contestants in Fiji as they battle through challenges and trials to win $100,000, with some of them in it for love, and others just the money. Within the first episode, two contestants had been labelled as the "least popular" islanders, and the following episodes did not hold back on the drama either.

Regardless of the controversy, fans are tuning in again for what is bound to be a more exciting season, with host Mark Dye saying that the contestants are "naughtier" this time around. If it's anything like last season, then we're in for a whole lot more love, lust, heartbreak, and tears! Contestants will share private villas (despite having only just met), participate in challenges, and try to work their way up to popularity ladder, at risk of being kicked off the island.

The show will broadcast at 9:30pm on TVNZ2, two hours later than it did last year, amid complaints that the adult content was shown too early.

This season will only have one host, Mark Dye, with previous co-host Matilda Rice unable to return due to other commitments and scheduling conflicts.

New episodes will be available to watch on TVNZ OnDemand Tuesday-Thursday at 6am, or at 9:30pm on TVNZ2.

Will you be tuning in and keeping up to date with the drama? Or would you prefer a quiet night in with your favourite sex toy? We know what we're leaning towards…
