With submissions recently closing on the proposed curriculum for youth sex education in New Zealand, our sex educator Emma Hewitt-Johnson took a look at what Kiwis say they actually wanted from sex ed for the Sunday Star Times.
According to our 2025 Mega Kiwi Sex Survey conducted in collaboration with the Sunday Star Times, “85% of New Zealanders weren’t fully satisfied with the sex ed they received.”
However, Gen Z reported the highest level of preparedness for sexual intimacy suggesting that the recent curriculum was the most comprehensive and successful to date.
