The new film Sinners is proving to be a huge hit and there’s one scene in particular that everyone is talking about online. The spitting sex scene between Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld has both turned people on and grossed people out, and Popsugar journalist Taylor Andrews wanted to look at spit play as a kink and why people are into it.

She spoke to our in-house sex educator Emma Hewitt-Johnson to get the lowdown on spit kinks.

"It might include exchanging saliva into each other's mouth, either by kissing with extra saliva or spitting into it," Hewitt says. But it can also include "spitting onto each other's bodies or using saliva as lube."

If you want to ease into this kind of play, Emma suggests,

"Have sloppy and wet oral sex or spit directly onto each other's chest or genitals rather than directly into the mouth to see how much you both enjoy this first."
