Very cool design. However a combation of the pretty strong pressure and the rubber nibs that have rather sharp bumps on them. Meant that these were just too much for us. I dont consider us newbies in this area either but these are for pretty high level users
Nicely weighted so quality feels just as great as it looks. Definitely a big step up from the beginners ones, so wouldn't recommend for beginners but if your more advanced would recommend

The hard rubber pads on the tips of the clamps are studded so they are very tenacious and could well do damage if pulled off by force.
