ATMS ‘Bird of the Year’ endorsement features on ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’

Our 2023 campaign for the Hihi for ‘Bird of the Year’ reached the eyes of John Oliver, earning the title of his “favourite endorsement”.

ATMS considers ourselves to be birds of a feather with the hihi, working together to embrace sex positivity – both in society and bird kingdom.

John Oliver was just as amazed and amused as we were to learn that not only does the male hihi have the largest testicles in the bird world, but that they are also polyamorous by nature!

It was ballsy of him to back the pūteketeke as New Zealand’s Bird of the Century – but unluckily for them, New Zealanders won’t accept any foreign election meddling, and our hihi has the biggest balls in all of bird kingdom. The race for Bird of the Century is on!
